An Unexpected Tea Time

My family has always lived in a quiet and very peaceful village in the countryside called the shire. My father was very well-to-do so we’ve wanted for nothing and always have, but my mother is a bit… strange.
She likes to go out on adventures and because of that always has a nice traveling snack recipe in her pocket. Everyone in her family is just like that. I, however, share my father’s affinity for staying home. And why would I ever want to leave? We have the coziest and most comfortable furniture and delicious food. My father always told me the key to a perfect life is a well stocked kitchen.
Well anyways, I was enjoying the beautiful Shire weather, waiting for my impossibly deliciously bacon-y pie to cool, when all of a sudden this old man, Gandalf or something or other, appeared. I knew him pretty well from holidays in Hobbiton, but we had never really had a conversation before. Well he decides to ask me if I want to go on an adventure. An adventure of all things! Nasty things, they make you late for dinner! Naturally, I said no and tried to get back inside as soon as possible. What does Mr. Gandalf do? He invites himself over for tea tomorrow! I suppose I can't blame him, the scent of the pie was wafting through the air.
What was I supposed to do, be rude and say no?! Naturally, I will not be pulling out all the stops for this tea time tomorrow. If this wizard character thinks he is getting some of my pie, he is sorely mistaken! I will eat it all tonight if I have to!
The impossible delicious bacon pie
This quiche is so delicious the smell alone will make anyone around want to join in on your brunch!
Ingredients:
12 slices (or more) of bacon, crisply fried and crumbled- remember bacon should be measured with your heart!
1-2 cups shredded cheese (I recommend natural Swiss or Muenster, something that's melty)
¼ cup chopped white onion
2 cups of milk
1 cup of all-purpose flour
1 ½ teaspoons of baking powder
1 tablespoon of vegetable oil (melted butter or shortening can be used here as well
4 eggs
Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
Heat oven go 400° F
Grease 10 inch quiche dish or pie plate (I recommend 10× 1 ½”)
Sprinkle bacon, cheese, and onion in plate
Beat remaining ingredients until smooth, 15, seconds in a blender on high or 1 minute with a hand beater. Pour into the plate. Put on a cookie sheet with parchment paper for easy clean up.
Bake until a knife inserted between center and edge comes out clean, 35 to 40 minutes. Cool 5 minutes 6 servings
